Hi all, I'm Elina Keinänen. In my past life (meaning the life before dogs..) my dearest hobby was horses; riding and taking care of them. But in 1997 bichon frisé male Leeward's X-file Mystery came in to my life  and things were never the same again... "Terry"'s the one that teached me to love this wonderful breed and he also  showed me how lovely hobby dog shows can be. Or actually nowadays dogs and  dog shows are more than just a hobby, more likely a way of life.



"Terry" was a very self-confident puppy, there was something special in him,  so it was easy to start showing "Terry". His first result was BOS-puppy, and just couple of months forward and he was already BOB and BIG4. I showed  "Terry" a lot when he was younger, nowadays he is already a veteran gentleman, but I have several younger bichons to show; "Anssi", Leeward's Ants In My Pants, came into our lives year after "Terry", in 1998. "Anssi" has also retired from the show rings. Then there was a break for few years, after that "Samu", Leeward's Prove The Point, moved into our house in 2001. At this point I had three males, so I started wondering how  would it feel to own a bitch... So "Mette", Leeward's Chic In Furs, moved to us year after, in 2002. "Mette" turned out to be such a lovely little girl, so I wanted another... Year 2003 "Diva", Leeward's Scarlett O' Hair was here, another beautiful addition to our family. I still had a feeling that something is missing ;), so now we also have "Noel", Leeward's Babe Magnet. "Noel" came to us in 2005, so he's just a baby.



My first litter was born in 2004 under Ms. Jaana Hellsten's kennel name Leeward's, since I didn't have my own name yet. The litter was out of Terry and Mette, and from this litter I own a bitch, "Lara" Leeward's Xciting Mystery, in co-ownership



I am deeply grateful for Ms. Jaana Hellsten from these absolutely precious bichons that I am privileged to own, and I also want to thank her from all the great advice and help she has offered me during the years, thank you so much Jaana! I owe you a lot!

My years in dog world have also given me a lot of new, great friends and unforgettable moments in the show rings!
